January 8, 2007

WOW! What a great December—the Christmas party was attended by 24 of us and our guests.  We enjoyed the Christmas Ships on the Willamette—members from Golden Rule at Nyssa to Sunset Fuchsia at Newport were there.  The food was great and the chocolate fountain a big hit, those who attended are making plans for Christmas 2007.

December found me at Blue Mt. Chapter in where I announced my choice for Grand Sentinel, Brother Joe Jarvis.  He plans on being at the January Luncheon at Victoria Chapter in Turner (hosted by Trinity). Those who ordered dresses have received them and I have heard from several how well they like them.

The badges are ordered and I am to pick them up the 12th and will have them at the next two receptions and will then mail out those I haven't seen. I know we have 2 new AC’s, Reames chapter initiated, elected and installed Marilyn Williams and Adarel elected Kay Dye to serve.  Glad to have you with us. The Bag Kits are available for $20.00, which includes everything—plastic canvas, yarn, pattern and instructions , no handles.  Let me know if you are interested. The 5 year calendar's 2007 – 2011 are ready and are for sale for $10.00 each.  Not only a good item for us, but think about someone else in your chapter or at work who might use one. Here it is almost the middle of January.  I have a school Thursday night at Star Chapter in Ontario, then I plan on being in the Valley for a week, I am doing Sister Sharon Baker’s school at Tualatin as her mother has passed away and she needs to be in California.  I am planning on visiting several chapters while down so look for Carolyn and I.

It takes 2 million visits to 2 million flowers for a honey bee to make 1 pound of honey. Hope your new year has started out right, we are going to have fun so come join us for a Fantastic Honey Bear and Bumble Bee Year.
