Minutes of Meeting
March 31, 2007
The March meeting of the Honeybears and Bumblebees was held Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Josephine Chapter in Grants Pass. Introduction of Worthy Grand Matron Marymargaret Holstein and Worthy Grand Patron Dick Varner and other distinguished guests occurred following the luncheon which had included members of all four Line Officer groups. As the youngest and smallest group, the Honeybears met in the large hallway of the Lodge Building . (Unlike the authentic Honeybear that boarded a bus in Australia recently and attacked the driver, our Oregon Honeybears are pleasant, compliant and docile – we are just glad to be together. – Rebecca, this last sentence was for you and we can remove it for the minutes, but it was a funny headline in the Sydney Morning Herald!) Sister Rebecca Price our Associate Grand Conductress reported that Honeybears President Sister Carolyn Beecher is cruising somewhere, and Vice-President Patti Nielsen is traveling somewhere, so Sister Rebecca was privileged to chair our meeting! We welcomed a First Timer to our meetings, Sister Geri Banghart, AC of Josephine Chapter, our hosts for the day. Minutes were discussed. It was decided that every three months, hard copies will be sent to members. It was moved, seconded and carried that the minutes be approved. The report of the Treasurer indicated that our beginning balance for the past month was $1067.01 and the ending balance as of this day is $1460.91. |

| Unfinished Business | Sister Rebecca reported that the Website Planning group had decided to open a special account to fund our OES website for the next four years. If proposed legislation is approved at Grand Chapter and subsequent general funds are budgeted, the seed money that each group has advanced will be returned to the various groups. If not, the website will operate from the funds allocated by each group. For the 2007-2008 year, most group luncheons will be held “in the valley”, with the November luncheon held in Eastern Oregon . We will need to have from three to six ACs for proving at Grand Chapter each session. The Oregon Gems will provide the emblems for use in proving. Current ACs are asked to check in before each closed session to ensure that sufficient coverage is available for proving. The Honeybears will be responsible for the Strawberry Booth on Memorial Day and the 4 th of July weekend (which is actually the weekend following July 4) at Sumpter. We will need from 40 to 60 dozen yellow cupcakes (18 to a package of mix) and experienced bakers noted that a shirt box is an excellent container in which to freeze the cupcakes and transport them to Sumpter. ACs who live in “the valley” should provide most of the cupcakes which will be transported by Sister Carolyn Beecher and others who plan to travel to Sumpter. The Baskets for bids at Grand Chapter were discussed and described.
Sister Rebecca noted that the Chapter banners for the Honeybears and Bumblebees Grand Chapter are all under control, and we will also be working in 2008 on the Christmas Socks for JM II that will be distributed in 2010. We will all be thinking of creative ideas for our summer 2007 Picnic.

| New Business | Under New Business, it was moved and seconded that we amend our bylaws to include: Under Section III Meetings Number 2. Costs of luncheons for Sister Rebecca Price and the Co-Grand Officer (add and their escorts) will be paid by the treasury of the Honey Bears. Motion Carried. Sister Carolyn Patrick moved and it was seconded that we present a check for $25 to the new Associate Conductresses at our luncheon together at Grand Chapter. Motion carried. Discussion was held about the contents of the Ways and Means table. Items are selling well including the jewelry we are selling on consignment. Sister Carolyn presented Sister Rebecca with a Bee Happy plaque in a very familiar gift bag. Meeting adjourned Respectfully submitted |
