June Minutes

Members of the Honey Bears and Bumble Bees met Tuesday noon, June 19, 2007 for a buffet luncheon with the new Associate Grand Conductress-elect’s for 2007-2008, Sister Connie Harris and members of her “7-11’s” group.  On behalf of the Honey Bears and Bumble Bees, Grand Conductress-elect Sister Rebecca Price presented a check for $25 to the group and everyone wished them well.

Sister Rebecca thanked all who had baked or brought cupcakes or worked the Strawberry Booth in Sumpter over Memorial Day.  The help was greatly appreciated.

At a very brief business meeting following the luncheon, Sister Rebecca noted that our summer picnic-brunch will be held August 18 on the Sternwheeler excursion from Cascade Locks.  Our gathering will include a celebration for Sister Rebecca’s “54th” birthday that day.

The fall schedule will begin on September 29th  with a luncheon meeting hosted by Trinity Chapter at the Masonic Building in Turner.  The reception for Worthy Grand Patron Brother Hunt Compton will be held that evening at the Scottish Rite Building in Salem.

The reception for Sister Rebecca and Brother Joe will be November 17th  in Elgin and will be preceded by a dinner to which all will be invited.

Sister Carolyn Patrick moved that the group approve an expenditure of $400 for 400 delegate bags to be used for our Grand Session.  Sister Rebecca had an opportunity to purchase the bags for this very nominal price and we estimate that embroidery for the bags will be about $1-$1.50 each.  Motion seconded and passed.

Sister Rebecca and Sister Carolyn Patrick took the juice from the Strawberries and have made 48 jars of Strawberry Jelly to be sold on the Fourth of July at the Strawberry Booth in Sumpter.

It was noted that several bills will be submitted at our September meeting for items that have been purchased by Sister Rebecca and Sister Carolyn Patrick for the coming years.

Respectfully submitted
