Minutes of Meeting of the Priceless Wonders
September 16, 2006
The September 2006 meeting of the Priceless Wonders was held Saturday, 9/16/2006, following a luncheon at Naomi Chapter #22 in Dallas OR. Introductions were already made after the luncheon and before the Lamplighters left to practice their addendum for the reception of the Worthy Grand Matron later in the day. Priceless Wonders President Carolyn Beecher was out of town at a family reunion, and Vice President Patti Nielsen was in Oklahoma for the birth of a grandchild. AGC Rebecca Price convened the meeting in the absence of those two officers. Minutes of the August meeting were approved as read. Treasurer Mary Maxwell reported income from dues, seed money and donations, with $65 paid for gifts purchased at Grand Chapter, leaving a balance of $310, including $36 from the day’s 50/50 ticket sales. No Visiting or Cheer items were reported. |

| Unfinished Business | Sister Rebecca reported that forms to order dresses had been sent out, and for those who had not previously seen the colors, she showed the fabric swatches. She emphasized ordering dresses as soon as possible so they will arrive by Nov. 4 and reminded us that badges are $10 each. The pattern for PW bags was shown and will be available through the newsletter. Yarn is being purchased in bulk so that smaller kits can be assembled for individual baskets. Several asked for suggestions of people willing to make bags for those whose talents do not include stitchery. If anyone has a suggestion as to who is available, please contact one of the PW officers or Sister Rebecca. Invitations for the November 4 reception will be sent very soon and will include directions and a map as well as a list of hotels and motels nearby. Luncheon for Priceless Wonders only will be at Golden Rule Chapter # 131 in Nyssa at 11:30 a.m. Mountain Standard Time (that’s 10:30 a.m. PST) and there will be a practice for addenda following that meeting. The chuck wagon dinner for all will begin at 5:30 MST at the Boulevard Grange Hall in Ontario, with the reception following at 7:30 MST. Please remember that prepaid reservations are required for this event and must be made by October 28, 2006. The Price family will host a breakfast Sunday morning for everyone at Boulevard Grange. The Grand Visitation at LaGrande is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sister Rebecca reported that the By-laws will be available through the newsletter in November after our “real name” has been revealed to all. |
| New Business | The October meeting of the Priceless Wonders will be held at 11:30 a.m. (PST) Oct. 21 at Barzillai Chapter # 16 in Albany. The reception for AGM Sharon Baker and AGP Hunt Compton will be at 7:30 that evening at Knowles Chapter #12 in McMinnville. The availability of five-year planners that can be purchased in quantities of 50 for $7.15 each to be sold for $10 was announced. Those present voted to order 50 for sale through the group. Information about Italian Charm bracelets with OES symbols originally shown at Sumpter will be given to the Ways and Means co-chairs. We will also try to sell jams, jellies, relishes, etc., at our reception on Nov. 4 since there will be a State Fair theme. Errors in the 2006-2007 Grand Chapter directory were pointed out, and a corrected list of Sister Rebecca’s remaining Schools of Instruction will be available through the October minutes. Respectfully Submitted,‘lyn Horine Recording Secretary |
