Minutes of Meeting of the Priceless Wonders

November 4, 2006

  • The November meeting of the Honeybears was held at Golden Rule Chapter in Nyssa at noon Nov. 4, 2006. Meeting was called to order by President Carolyn Beecher. Carolyn Patrick won the 50/50 and the group received $26.00.
  • Darlene Wanker was introduced as a member of the Registration Committee for General Grand Chapter, and PGM of the Grand Chapter of Oregon. Rebecca Price was introduced as Associate Conductress of the Grand Chapter of Oregon. In addition there were two Grand Committee Members, three Grand Representatives and two Worthy Matrons present. First timers included Jack and Betty Royle and Ted Beecher.
  • Under Visiting and Cheer, Jack and Mary Maxwell announced the arrival of their 15 th grandchild. Carolyn Beecher will be having knee surgery and the week following that, she will have a tooth extracted and a root canal.
  • The Ways and Means table made $40 today.
  • Rebecca reported that she has completed 17 schools of instruction, four of them just this week, and has had lots of fun – from potlucks to jetboat rides.
  • The treasurer’s report for November includes a balance of $849.50.
Unfinished Business
  • Rebecca announced that her daughter Denise and Carolyn Patrick will serve as photographers for the reception tonight.

  • The room at the Riverplace Hotel in Portland is booked for Dec. 8 beginning at 7 p.m. More information will be available at our website and reservations can be made online. The cost is $12 each and we are asked to bring hors d’oerves to share.

  • Our five year calendars are here and the kits for making baskets will be completed and announced in the next newsletter. Deadline for the newsletter is Nov. 14. This will be the last paper-copy newsletter unless there are specific requests made to Rebecca. All others will be sent via email.

  • Rebecca showed the prototypes of the proposed magnetic badges. For men, the badge will have a brown bear with a honeypot under his arms. For women, the bear will be a lighter, rustier color. The $10 fee will include the drops, mailing – everything. Badge order forms will be available on line at our website. Judie Kissinger moved and it was seconded that the total fee be $10. Motion carried.

  • Rebecca heard from Kimi recently and she says our dresses are well along in the process and should be here soon. Rebecca also has appropriate lining fabric for the baskets.

New Business
