Grand Chapter Committees |
With the approval of Sister Rebecca Price , the President shall
appoint the following committee members to assist with Grand Chapter
activities:
- 2006-2007:
- one Co-chairperson to work with the Chairperson from
the Oregon Gems for proving Grand Chapter.
- 2007-2008:
- one Chairperson for proving Grand Chapter
- two co-chairpersons to work with the chairperson from the
Oregon Gems on the Jewelry Committee
- one person to serve as co-chairperson for the All-Membership
Banquet.
- 2008-2009:
- one Chairperson and three members on the Jewelry Committee
- Chairperson to be in charge of all arrangements for the
All-Membership banquet.
- One persons and six area representatives of the Sunshine
Committee
- One person to serve as chairperson for the Decoration Committee
for Grand Chapter Installation
- In addition to their specific Committee duties, each Grand Chapter
chairperson appointed under this section shall prepare a comprehensive
report containing pertinent information, operative functions and
responsibilities of the committee, and submit this report to the
President no later than six weeks after the close of Grand Chapter.
These reports will be offered to the President of the group following
to use as a guide.

Memorials |
Contributions in the amount of $25 will be made from this organization
to an Eastern Star charity, in memory of deceased members of The
Honey Bears, their escorts, and Past Grand Matrons, Past Grand Patrons
of the Grand Chapter of Oregon upon their death. A list of all those
honored will be sent with the donation.
- A memorial card will be sent to the family of the deceased by
the Recording Secretary at the time of death or shortly thereafter.
- The Recording Secretary shall notify the Corresponding Secretary
of the death of any persons identified above.

Mementos |

In the 2008-2009 year, the President shall appoint a committee to
recommend a memento to be approved by the membership at a subsequent
meeting.

To receive a Honey Bear memento, the proposed recipient must be
a member of the Honey Bears in good standing, with all dues fully paid
for the years actually served as a Honey Bear at the time she/he receives
the memento.

Amendments |

All proposed changes to these by-laws shall be presented in writing
and a first reading made at a regular meeting. The proposed changes
will be re-read at the next regular meeting and a vote on the proposed
changes held.

Any proposed changes shall be printed in The Honey Bears newsletter
following the first reading, and prior to the second reading.

A vote of 2/3 of the members present shall adopt the proposed amendments.

The Recording Secretary will notify the Corresponding Secretary
to make the necessary changes to the permanent By-laws, noting the
date of the change(s) and this information will be printed in the newsletter.
